Yesterday Epic finally released the UT3 Linux dedicated server. This means that we can finally use our trusted server, The Chilling Grounds, for gaming again.
Check it out if you want...just connect to "tcg.clanci.net" or try finding "[Ci] The Chilling Grounds" in your server browser (no guarantee this will work...there's plenty of people having problems getting their servers to show up in the server list). Either way, have fun and enjoy your stay.
Planned Server Uptime...later than expectedPosted By: Loibisch

Hey everybody, if you can read this we're up and running again.
![]() You might say "I thought this was only supposed to last until 13 hours ago at most?" and I'd say "you're right, but..." At this point it might be convenient to blame our host for the extended downtime, but our host was not at fault, nor was our server unresponsive...what didn't work was some stupid unknown program called "apache". ![]() So what happened in clear terms? The server had been running for ages and at some point or later the XML parser libraries got recompiled...apache (having the old library still loaded) kept running as if nothing had happened. Then after the server restart apache tried to rise from the dead and went down with the message "oops, this is not the libexpat I've been expecting...I'll better stop doing anything and just die". This was with me stuck at work the whole day. Coming back I figured out the problem and while I was at it I decided to upgrade from apache-2.0.something to apache-2.2.6...big mistake. Lots of config files had changed, vanished, had a different purpose...stuff moved all over the place. In the end I only saved the virtual host config files and did a clean apache reinstall...and soooooooo: WE'RE BACK!
Planned Server DowntimePosted By: Loibisch
Posted On: 26-11-2007 2 Comments
Our service provider has scheduled a server downtime for Monday 26th of November, 23:00 CET due to a move to a new datacenter.
This means that all services provided by The Chilling Grounds will cease at 22:30 and hopefully return a mere couple of hours later. The move is expected to be complete at Tuesday 27th, 8:00 CET at the latest. As a result our connection to the world should be improved as they're moving to a connection to one of the biggest backbones in Germany, the Frankfurt hub of Deutsche Telekom. Let's hope everything goes fine
